PRP, or Platelet Rich Plasma, is a cutting-edge treatment for tendinitis, osteoarthritis and other orthopedic conditions. In an attempt to avoid surgery, patients choose this option to see if there is one last chance to get better before considering surgery. This treatment involves the use of your your body’s own natural growth factors. These factors are obtained from your blood via a simple blood draw. The blood is then spun at a high speed to separate its components. The layer of concentrated growth factors is then utilized. This concentrate can then be given back to you at the site of pain.
