Your Care is Essential
Over the past several months the covid-19 pandemic has progressed and the medical world has learned much about the nature of the virus, how it spreads, and how to help prevent people from getting sick. A vaccine may be around the corner.
During this time, we have continued to perform essential orthopedic care for patients in the office. While first concerned about seeing patients and performing injections and other office procedures, we have found ways to minimize risk and help keep the clinic as safe as possible. We currently perform injections such as steroid injections, supartz, PRP and AmnioFix injections, to address the pressing needs of our patients who continue to have pain, and who have plans for surgery but wish to wait because of Covid-19 .
We are back in the OR performing needed procedures for our patients. As always, my goal is to be here for you and to continue care for you. At this time, your safety is my number one concern. I would recommend postponing an office visit if you or a family member within your household fall into any of the following categories:
- You are presently symptomatic or have recently experienced symptoms of the flu including, but not limited to, fever, chills, cough, sore throat, or shortness of breath.
—OR—
- You have recently (within the past two weeks) returned from outside of the United State or have had considerable exposure to a person who has returned from outside the country.
—OR—
- Your present level of pain is well-controlled.
As the CDC and local health department works to uncover more details on COVID-19, we may have to make changes on types of medications that we can use, as well as designating which procedures we are able to perform. We ask that you please understand these conerns are in place to protect you, as well as those you come in close contact with, and my own office staff.
If you have questions, please let me know.
