Mako Robotic Knee Replacement

Mako Robotic Total Knee Replacement

Dr. Hacker was one of the first surgeons in San Diego to use the Mako total knee surgical robotic system to perform Makoplasty, or total knee replacement using the Mako system.  With years of experience using the Mako total knee system, the technique helps to resurface damaged areas of the knee leaving healthy surrounding bone and tissues intact.

For patients with advanced osteoarthritis, the mako procedure begins with a CT scan of your knee. These images are used to re-create a three-dimensional picture of your knee in the Mako computer system.  With this we can plan the complex procedure ahead of your actual surgery.

During the procedure, Dr. Hacker and the robotic system work together to ensure an accurate reproduction of your normal anatomy as much as possible.  The robot control allows for precise adjustments and a completely customized surgery just for you. The advantage is a surgery with the highest level of accuracy possible today.
